My name is Laura and my daughter’s name is Ivy. Ives has just celebrated her first birthday, but was just 11 weeks when she took her first international holiday to explore Bali.
When I was 21, I quit my job, sold everything I owned and stuffed my entire life into a backpack to set off around Europe. My “one-year career break” turned into a life travelling the world and working in places including London, the French Alps, the Greek Islands, Canada and the Cayman Islands, and visiting many more.
I came home to Brisbane last year to welcome little Ivy into the world and now 10 years after packing my backpack, I am continuing the trek with my tiny human in tow.
I want Ivy to see how much love and wonder is in the world, know the extraordinary places she can go and the amazing people she will meet. The most valuable lessons are taught outside the classroom, and extended family really can span the entire globe.
Ivy and I are about to take off to Hawaii, Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and Europe. I wanted to share our story, incase you’d like to follow along.
All the love,
Laura and Ivy x
